Initial Prototype


I have decided to share my progress while building out a game idea. This is mostly so I can learn the Godot engine and GDScript. Since I am coming from PHP web development. The concept of game development and game engines is entirely different from what I am used to.

While the logic of coding transfers over, the syntax, interaction between UI elements and many other aspects do not. It's been a struggle to get this far but I feel like I am over the biggest hurdle of entry into the engine. From here on out the difficulty will be in implementing new types of features. Creating a better UI (I know, it sucks really bad right now!) and optimizing for clean, readable code which does the minimum amount of functions to get the job done!


While I can't promise when updates will happen. I will be working on it regularly and hope that (while there really isn't much here) I can gather feedback along the way of what people like/dislike and how the game can improve.


The idea so far:

You generate 'control' with your mind which you can eventually automate (this is currently in the game)

You will then perceive living beings outside of your mind and begin to mind control them (with the control you generate).

Each creature will have a 'control' cost which you will have to balance between growing your control and/or controlling creatures.

I am still planning on what to do once you have control.
